Over 35 years of clinical and academic experience in dermatology, with a focus on nail diseases, onychoscopy, and nail surgery. Member of the Brazilian Society of Dermatology (SBD), Brazilian Society of Dermatologic Surgery (SBCD), and the Brazilian Melanoma Group (GBM).
Clinical & Research Areas
Diagnosis and management of nail unit disorders, including melanonychia, onychomycosis, dystrophies, and tumors of the nail apparatus.
Dermoscopic evaluation of the nail unit for differential diagnosis of pigmented lesions, inflammatory conditions, and nail tumors.
Nail matrix biopsy, excision of benign and malignant tumors, onychocryptosis correction, and nail unit surgical procedures.
Dermoscopic analysis of cutaneous and nail lesions, including non-traditional applications in infectious and inflammatory conditions.
Diagnosis and surgery of cutaneous malignancies, with emphasis on melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, and squamous cell carcinoma.
Early detection of subungual melanoma through clinical and dermoscopic criteria. Differential diagnosis of melanonychia striata using the ABCDEF rule.

Scientific Activity
Invited speaker at major national dermatology meetings over the past three decades. In 2026, joined the panel on melanonychia at the 10th SBD Symposium on Hair and Nails, invited by Dr. Nilton Di Chiacchio. Active member of SBD, SBCD, and GBM, with participation in the RADLA (Latin American Dermoscopy Meeting) and the Brazilian Melanoma Conference series.
